A Merry Fitzgerald Christmas for 200 Valley Children

Phoenix, AZ – Larry Fitzgerald carries a heavy heart every time he steps onto the field.  He looks up and even though his mother is not in the stands, he knows she is watching over him.  Fitzgerald’s mother Carol was beloved in her community for all she did to make lives easier for others.  When Fitzgerald was growing up, she instilled the importance of community into him and his brother.  Fitzgerald is carrying on his mother’s tradition of working to change the lives of underprivileged kids in the community.

The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver is hosting his 1st Annual

Merry Fitzgerald Christmas for 200 kids from the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

“I want to give these children a special night where all their Christmas wishes can come true.  Because these kids endure so much every day, I want to give them an opportunity to truly believe in the magic of Christmas” said Fitzgerald.

A Merry Fitzgerald Christmas is scheduled for the evening of December 23rd in coordination with the Black

Family and Child Services in Phoenix.  Fitzgerald will provide each child with dinner, photographs, a wrapped present, and live holiday entertainment.

Fitzgerald doesn’t want to be merely a figurehead for the annual event. He will personally be involved with selecting and shopping for the presents for each child, so they know each present was hand selected and comes from his heart.

Fitzgerald sees the event as something much more than just a one night Christmas Celebration. “I want the spotlight to be on these kids and bring awareness to the wonderful and bright spirit of these children.  I am hoping this will open the eyes of people who are not aware of the struggles these children face and help me find more ways to improve their quality of life.
