There were rumors late last season that the Minnesota Vikings were interested in Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald but nothing ever materialized. The rumors continued for a while and faded off but have come back as of late. Perhaps it's because of Fitzgerald's blatant disrespect toward new coach Ken Whisenhunt or simply because the Vikings are in desperate need of a wide receiver. Either way, it's starting to hit the papers.According to the "overheard" section of the St. Paul Pioneer Press the Vikings may offer the Cardinals their 7th overall pick in the upcoming draft, as well a player or two. No specific names on players were given but you can bet they'd have to be higher profile players, or young talent with a ton of potential.
With Bryant Johnson likely on his way out of Arizona the Cardinals don't really have wiggle room to get rid of a wide receiver, especially one of Fitzgerald's caliber. That said, having two top 10 picks and two solid additional players could be a good deal. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
